About Us
Our Story
Our story began in 2011 during our sophomore year of college when a mutual friend introduced us. We connected immediately over our shared hobbies and interests, including music and video games. In each other, we have found acceptance, endless fun, and laughter. We were engaged in 2016 and married the next year in an intimate ceremony and reception with our family and close friends.
After getting married, it did not take long for us to want to grow our family. Throughout the last few years, we have tried to conceive biologically, going through various fertility treatments, though in the end, we chose to alter our course towards adoption. Early in our relationship we discussed adopting, so it felt like the universe pulling us in this direction towards our child.
Hi! I'm Taryn
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a mom. I know, I know - that's something a lot of people say! But that has truly been the ultimate goal for me. When Keegan and I got married, the person who married us asked what our future goals were, I couldn't think of much beyond having a child and growing our family.​

I love Fall weather and am happiest cozied up in some sweatpants and a blanket - preferably with a yule log fireplace on the TV while reading a good book with a mug of hot cocoa. I am finishing up my masters degree to become a School Librarian and I love to read! (Shocking, I know) While I can be a bit of a quiet person I am not shy, especially when it comes to something I am passionate about. I have always been a kid-person; first helping to raise my nieces and nephews when I was young, and then eventually bonding with my friends' kids during game nights or other gatherings.
Fun facts about me!
1. I love to create and craft! I like to try new crafting techniques but always come back to crocheting.
2. My favorite holiday is Christmas and I hope to one day have a Christmas tree in every room of our house!
3. ​I love a game that involves solving a puzzle, whether it's a board or video game. Each year my brother buys me a puzzle box and tries to stump me, but has so far been unsuccessful!

She is fierce in the defense of those she loves, and I have always admired the courage, strength, and deep love she has for others. Taryn is a born caregiver, and I'm always amazed at how kids gravitate towards her and how effortlessly she engages them. She is unapologetically herself and makes other people feel comfortable to do the same. She has an amazing sense of humor and is always making me, and herself, laugh."
Hi, I'm Keegan!
Whether it's exploring a new place or getting transported into a story, I love an adventure. I can't think of any greater adventure than becoming a dad! As my relationship with Taryn grew, I knew very quickly that with her at my side, I was ready and eager to begin that journey.

I love to spend time with the people I care about and am always excited to have an interesting and meaningful conversation. Anyone who knows me will tell you that once I'm close to you, I'm always talking! While I like my quiet time too, I'm definitely a people person. In all parts of my life, I love the feeling of helping others and supporting them. Since I was a kid, I've always tried to be a safe person for the people in my life. In my job as a mental health counselor, I have the privilege of doing that everyday. I know that as a dad, I'll be able to bring that love, support, and understand to my child every day.
Fun facts about me!
1. I'm really passionate about music! I love going to concerts, collecting vinyl records, and even play in a band. My prized possession is my dad's guitar, which I learned to play on. Some day I hope to teach my kid on that same guitar!
2. I love trivia games and have a life goal of being on Jeopardy!
3. I love all types of fantasy stories - books, video games, movies. One of my favorite things to do is play Dungeons and Dragons with a group of friends, because we get to tell stories together!

Little kids are always drawn to him and I think it is because they can feel the positivity and love that radiates from him. He strives to be the best version of himself every day, and constantly seeks to continue learning and growing as a person. He is the best listener and makes everyone around him feel at ease."
